Yata-Garasu

Yata-Garasu is one of the reasons why we currently have a ban-list in the game of Yu-Gi-Oh was a card that was extremely Over Powered back in 2004 when cards like CED(Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End) and BLS-EotB(Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning) were at 3

At this current time i considered that the card is trash can be brought back to 1 without creating any problems in the meta or affecting it in any ways since the only deck that can truly take advantage of this card is a deck build around Sky Scourge Norleras which i honestly haven't seen in a while and i wouldnt even consider the deck a tier 2 deck

The reason why this card would be useful in any other deck or why other decks might not use it is because the fact that this card is a spirit monster and so it lacks the ability to be special summoned and needs to be constantly summoned for you to gain anything from his effect

Taking the normal summon aint usually a big deal but in this case because almost all top decks this format are very dependent on their normal summon to set-up their win condition and/or set up their field presence

Since Yata requires the players normal summon for the turn the player losses the option to set-up their field and must delay any combos that the deck is capable of pushing out in hopes of successfully being able to summoned Yata the next turn which leaves their field open to alot of removal cards as the opponent would have 3 turns to disrupt it and so ruining the players plan and given them a huge boost in the duel

Most players aren't willing to risk loosing the game for a chance to set-up a win condition with as many holes as this one

The only way to to use Yata so that it works in your advantage is for your opponent to have an empty field which since Yata's body is so small that it cant run over 99.9% of commonly used monsters and though he wont be on the field for your opponents turn they can still remove it with Trap cards or Quick Spells

If your opponent doesn't have their monster zone open then you cant summon Yata as it will probably be useless and if your opponents back-row aint cleared then your taking a huge risk and that is something you cant risk because if 1 of their face down is a removal card the your win condition goes out the windows and you must make new decisions while thinking of a way to win

The risk in playing Yata aint worth what it brings as it wont be useful when your opponent has anything on the field or in the hand for that matter because if you attack with Yata and they have anything that can remove it in their hand then there really aint anything to stop them from letting you summon it and then killing it

When a player is as defenseless as you need him to be for Yata to actually be good you can make a bigger difference by summoning regular beatsticks then Yata also because he requires that the opponent be so defenseless for him to be good he is likely to be a dead card early to mid game

Which is when most decks gain advantage in order to capitalize later on and having dead cards/dead draws dont really help any decks

Yata can safely come to 1 in 2001 because of the lack of a a field clearer(CED) and because the overwhelming amount of removal available to decks  the risk that it requires to be played doesn't help it and the lack of synergy kills it

Ill be making a comparison on Yata and Spirit reaper later on :)
